Escape to Bath

Last weekend we packed up the car, inclusive of a choice of approximately five coats and four pairs of boots….for a weekend away in Bath. We've never been to Bath before so for those of you that have, you can imagine how blown away by how beautiful it was we were. We were lucky enough to be invited to stay at No.15 Great Pulteney, an absolutely beautiful old townhouse, on the very famous Great Pulteney Street, where the buildings are something to behold. This hotel had us so excited to be in Bath, the level of boutique luxury teamed with grandeur is something I've never experienced so well in a hotel. The balance was perfect. Our room made me feel like I was Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone 2, mainly because the bed was big enough to fit five of me in, and even I had to stretch up to climb into bed.

The list of things to see and do in Bath is endless. And if you're not one for walking absolutely miles, then you're in luck because you can walk the entire length of Bath in 40 minutes. Which means, wine and food is never more than 10 minutes away...

The best thing we did was visit the Roman Baths. At school, Roman history was always my favourite, the glamour, the gold and the sunshine got me hook line and sinker. There's so much to learn here, and the ruins are beautiful. It was such an interesting trip and I couldn't recommend it more. As a side note, James is now looking at property prices as I type this….

We also did, wait for it….an open bus tour. A quick 30 minute whizz round the city and it was honestly so great, we learnt a fair amount of new things and the tour guide was fab.
