Making London my home
I have lived in London for almost three years now. That, to me, a girl from Stockport, is mental in itself. It took a huge upheaval to get me here, but it was absolutely the best thing that has ever happened to me. Now, I've lived in a couple of different flats and lets just say that neither of them were very 'me'.
I moved into this flat in February with my flatmate M, (who is the worlds best) and it is so very 'me'. I always wondered whether I would ever find my area in London, because it's such a big place, how could I ever settle? I tried South East, and then I tried North West, and it turns out, North West is wholeheartedly for me. Bakerloo line all the way please! Compromises have to be made when you're flat hunting in London, location over flat or flat over location? I went flat over location, but managed to stick within ten minutes of my absolute desired location so really, I'm winning here.
I have teamed up with La Redoute to bring you a little flat tour; you can think of it as the La Redoute home edit because there is always so much to choose from on site, so here I am to narrow it down!
My La Redoute homeware literally makes my day every time I look at it. My flat couldn't feel more like home now. The quality and price of La Redoute homeware is just incredible; and they have the most amazing sales! So keep your eyes out for that too.
Let's start in my living room.
Parquet wood is something I've grown to become slightly obsessed with, so when I found this table online, it hit my basket before I could even measure up. I've styled it over a very soft, fluffy faux sheepskin rug to add some contrast to all the wood in the flat.
My TV has its very own home these days, a very Scandi chic one at that! I always muscled on with some kind of stool to rest the TV on, but you know what? I'm 29, I need a TV table.
I think my favourite pieces are in the dining room set up. The table is such a gorgeous mix of wood, and I love the industrial/minimal iron table legs. I have always wanted a bench, over chairs at my dining room table, so this time, I went for two dining room chairs (Scandi inspired by Eames, of course) and a bench around the other side and I absolutely love sitting up there! I've never had a dining table before, so this is a relatively big step for my adulthood, and it means I can have friends round for dinner as often as I want to cook (or order us a takeaway).
My bedroom needed some TLC in the way of chic storage, so I found these slim, low chest of drawers is a darker wood to stack on top of each other. They're super spacious and I've even got an empty drawer….which to be honest, is a world record for me because I hoard, hard!
You can shop each piece below:
I really hope you've enjoyed my mini flat tour with La Redoute and that you've got some inspiration for your home too!
