Back in the North & gearing up for a real holiday

Last week I went home to Stockport for a few days. I can't remember the last time I went back up North for more than 24 hours. It's always such a rush, and I have so many people to see and catch up with that it ends up feeling a bit stressful! This time was so great. I didn't make any plans with anyone until I got there and I could figure out my time. I arrived on the Sunday and went straight out for a pub Sunday lunch with mum and dad, our Mike, my brother, was supposed to come too but he was nursing a severe hangover and therefore couldn't get up off the sofa. Ahh to be in my 20's again. I spent Monday with my grandad, and I took him to visit nana, and that was lovely but also, nan isn't always on form and this time, she wasn't so that's hard to see and especially see how sad it makes my grandad- she's got dementia.

I caught up with some of my oldest friends over brews and dinner, and met my friend's very happy baby! Mum and I went shopping but she was fuming because I managed to find a few things for my holiday, and she did not.

It felt like such a wholesome trip home, without the rush that I usually have. My grandad always gets mad at me for being so busy! So he was pleasantly surprised when he got to see me 3 days on the run!

As you read this, I'll be landing in Naples, ready for an Amalfi Coast trip with James. It's a real holiday. One I actually get to switch off on. Saying that, I'm going as part of a project for Olympus, so I'll be snapping lots and exploring the best parts to come back and tell you all about it. but it'll be super chilled as I know what I want to do already, and the setting will make it so easy.
