Transitional boots styling with Dune

I've been so excited to share this post with you. One of the few things I love (I do not love the cold, dark nights and longer days) about the transitional season, is boots. I absolutely love shopping for new boots for the Autumn/Winter season change. I teamed up with Dune to bring you two looks with my two new favourite pairs of boots. From Paris to London, they are so easy to style. I stuck with all black for both pairs. As much as I love a pop of colour, or even navy blue, black boots are the ones you're going to get the most wear out of. I chose boots that both have a heel because I'm lacking a smart/casual boot in my collection. I've got plenty of flat, chunky boots which add an air of 'Tomboy' to everything. Dune have got such an incredible selection of boots this season, and I struggled to choose my two favourites, and trust me, I'm a fussy boot shopper.

The first pair fit me like a glove. They're the perfect height, they sit just above my ankle and are really slim so look very chic. I love the chunky block heel on these, which makes them very easy to roam around in and yet they aren't too high. You know what I'm like for denim so I've styled these with my cropped Redone vintage Levi's and I really love how they smarten up my causal blazer clad look. I've had a fair few compliments on them too, so they're style road-tested! I think this pair would look amazing with almost any Autumn/Winter look, as we get colder, think chunky knits and a longer slim fit pair of jeans.

The second look I styled was all for the benefit of these amazing, sophisticated kitten heel boots. I wore this look for lunch with friends last week and I just loved how these boots, again, smartened up my look. I've tried on a lot of boots in this style but the proportions are never right. These Dune ones are absolutely perfect. From the pointed toe to the heel height, there's not a thing I would change about them. I would say, puddles are not your friend…so protect them with a spray before you brave the wet and windy weather.

I don't know what it is about these boots, but they make me feel really, well, good! It's that extra bit of elegance and height they bring to lift an outfit, I think! They're so comfortable too, which is surprising for a heeled boot, but I managed to do a full day of shopping post lunch in these without a single moan about my feet. And for those that know me, that's something of an accomplishment.
